AUBURN- Muriel B. Fontaine, 98, formerly of Laurier St., Lewiston, passed away Saturday morning, January 6th from a short illness at Odd Fellows' and Rebekahs' Home in Auburn. She was born in Lewiston on March 24, 1919 the daughter of Alphonse and Gracia (Picard) Bilodeau. She had two daughters from her first marriage. She worked as a battery hand also as a table hand building Jacquard heads for over 30 years at Bates Manufacturing, retiring at the age of 62. AUBURN- Muriel B. Fontaine, 98, formerly of Laurier St., Lewiston, passed away Saturday morning, January 6th from a short illness at Odd Fellows' and Rebekahs' Home in Auburn. She was born in Lewiston on March 24, 1919 the daughter of Alphonse and Gracia (Picard) Bilodeau. She had two daughters from her first marriage. She worked as a battery hand also as a table hand building Jacquard heads for over 30 years at Bates Manufacturing, retiring at the age of 62. She enjoyed spending family time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On January 31, 1981 Muriel married Maurice Fontaine Sr. During their time together, they enjoyed taking trips to Florida and California. He passed away on March 15, 2008 in Lewiston.

Surviving are her daughters Yvette Taylor and her husband Donald of Rindge, NH., Doris Remillard and her husband Roland of Leeds. Her husband's children Maurice Fontaine Jr. and his wife Pauline, Lucille Landry and her husband Paul, Louise McClure and her husband Michael all of Lewiston; grandchildren Cathy Murray and her husband Kurt, Sharon Taylor and her husband Jonas August, Michael Remillard, Steven Remillard and his wife Tammy; five great-grandchildren Taylor Murray, Kyle Murray, Krista Murray, Collin Remillard, Eva August. She is also survived by sisters Gilberte Baril and her husband Lucien, Jacqueline Baril and her husband Fernand; brother Raymond Bilodeau and his wife Carmel and many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her family. Besides her husband, Muriel was predeceased by four sisters, Armande, Juliette, Yvette and Yolande; four brothers Raoul, Roger, Joseph, and Valmore. The family wishes to thank Dr. Oswald and the staff of Odd Fellows' and Rebekahs' Home for their support and care in Muriel's later years.
